The red postbox is an iconic symbol of Britain, featured on many a souvenir in London tourist shops.
But some people have noticed something peculiar happening to their postboxes – after they started turning baby pink.
A Royal Mail spokesman said. “We have an ongoing programme of postbox maintenance which involves application of a pink primer before the box is repainted in its iconic red.
“We aim to keep any disruption to a minimum while the work is carried out.”
We can’t imagine the pink colour will cause too much disruption to people posting their letters.
